Here, you’ll find a number of the most frequently asked event rental questions that we received at Johnny Bouncy House and Party Rental. While we understand that this list will not cover every question that you may have, we hope that you find the answer to most of your questions or concerns. There is no charge for setting up. However, additional fees may apply for delivery services to certain areas.

Yes, but once again, please be aware that delivery fees may apply.

That depends on how many rentals we have that day. Generally, we arrive half an hour to four hours before the rental begins. If we have a lot of rentals that day, we may need to set up as early as four hours in advance. If this is the case, we will call at least 24 hours before your event to confirm that someone will be at the party location.

No. Johnny BouncyHouse and Party Rental cleans and disinfects after every rental. If we are super busy and the inflatable was rented and used all weekend, we will clean your inflatable on-site before you use it. We make it our mission to provide you with clean, safe rentals 100% of the time.

Yes. A blower keeps air in the inflatable unit the entire time. Once unplugged, the inflatable will deflate. That’s why we require an outlet within 100 feet of the unit or a generator. Also, longer cords can pop your circuit breaker, so we supply you with our own heavy-duty cords!

We loved setting up at Illinois Park District, Cook County, and DuPage County Forest Preserves, but most parks do not have electricity. If you want to set up at a park or forest preserve, you must rent a generator. We rent generators at a reasonable cost, and they can be found in the Accessories Section. You will also need a certificate of insurance, which we will provide for a $50.00 fee.

At Johnny BouncyHouse and Party Rental, we accept cash, as well as major credit cards. If paying by cash, please have exact change as our driver does not carry cash.

Yes, all orders require a 50 – 100 credit card deposit.

For Non-Weather Cancellations: You may cancel your reservation, but whatever amount has been paid, including the deposit and any other balance, will be good for up to one year from the date of cancellation. However, if it is within 13-14 days before the reservation, you will be charged half the rental price and will have one year from the date of cancellation to redeem your credit. If you cancel within 6-7 days or up to the start of your event, you will be charged for the full amount of the rental and will have one year from the date of cancellation to use the credit. 

We are a small business and we have limited equipment, so if we hold that equipment for your reservation, we will need to be compensated for turning away other reservations. Thank you for your understanding.

Inflatables cannot be used if there are winds of 20 mph (15 mph for some items) or more and cannot be used in constant rainfall. 24 hours before and up to 7:00 a.m. on the day of your event, we will monitor the weather to see what is predicted in the forecast. If there is a 50% chance or more for consistent rain or a prediction of winds 20 mph or above during the time of your event, we will allow you to cancel on the day of your event before 7:00 a.m. You will be able to choose to move your deposit to a different date or to have a credit that is valid for up to one year from the date of cancellation or request for a refund. You must call us before 7:00 a.m. on the morning of  your event to cancel for the full refund of your deposit. 

Please note: We must keep safety in mind at all times, so Johnny BouncyHouse and Party Rental reserves the right to cancel your rental due to inclement weather at any time.

**Cancellations Due to the Weather are determined the morning of your event before we deliver. If you decide to cancel due to poor weather conditions, your deposit will be refunded but you must cancel by 7:00 a.m. Please note that if you call after 7:00 a.m. and the delivery truck has already left the warehouse, then you are responsible for payment in full. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Rain: If there is a 50% or greater chance for rain during the scheduled time of your event, you can reschedule, have a credit valid for up to one year, or receive a refund if you call before 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the scheduled delivery. However, if the forecast calls for scattered showers or less than a 50% chance of rain, we recommend you continue with your scheduled delivery. If the forecast is for continuous rain throughout the day, we recommend you cancel or reschedule your event.
  • Wind: Inflatables cannot be used in winds exceeding 20 mph (15 mph for some). If the forecast is for high winds, we will call to cancel and you can reschedule your rental, receive a credit that is good for one year, or receive a refund. We will cancel the event or you must confirm cancellation before 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event.

Temperature: All inflatables can be used in a wide range of temperatures, but if the temperature is expected to fall below 32 degrees at any time during your event, we will call the morning of your event to cancel/reschedule your delivery. Keep in mind the children’s activity will keep them very warm, and we recommend you continue as scheduled if the temperature is forecasted to be above 32 degrees. Deposits will not be refunded for temperature cancellations above 32 degrees.

Most of our moon bounces are 15ft by 15ft. Please note the space required for each unit, as some are very big and require extra space. When in doubt, measure your space to make sure it will fit. Units need room to be stacked as well as room for a blower, and they cannot rub against walls or trees as this may damage the inflatable. The sizes listed with each unit include the space needed for all the extra equipment. If you have stairs or a tiered backyard, please call our office to discuss options for setup.

Check the requirements listed with each unit. Also, make sure you have at least a four-foot-wide access to the area where it will be set up. The units can weigh up to 650 pounds, so we need a clear path with ample room.

We can set up on grass, asphalt, and concrete. For asphalt and concrete setups, you will need to order a sandbag rig. We cannot set up on any type of rock as the constant rubbing may wear through the vinyl.

Yes. There is a link on your receipt once you’ve ordered, or you may contact our office.

It depends. You are not responsible for normal wear and tear. We will frequently inspect our units, but seams may develop tears in high-traffic areas. If this happens, please alert us at once so we can remedy the situation. If, however, damage occurs due to failure to follow our safety rules or negligence, you will be responsible for all damages, including replacement of the inflatables, blower, and any other necessary parts. We don’t want you or us in that situation, which is why we have you sign and initial on all our safety rules, allowing you to be the trained operator.
